Industry Update
Harry Handlin, U.S. Data Center Segment Leader
The Spring 7x24 Exchange Conference in Orlando is just a few weeks away. We invite you to attend our moderated panel discussion, Elevating Efficiency: Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) design considerations for containerized applications. There are currently two major trends that impact the design of eHouses containing UPS modules. First, the UPS module capacities are increasing while the UPS module footprint is decreasing. The second trend is increased ambient operating temperatures inside containers. As a result of these two trends, the design of the cooling becomes a more complex problem. We will delve into these issues and discuss best practices on design.
There are many benefits to containerized data centers - the primary benefit is speed to market. It can be deployed quickly to expand existing power capacity or incorporated into an existing facility. This application contains prefabricated components that often require specific design considerations due to the environment. The challenge we often see are thermal considerations and ensuring ways to optimize performance. I will be joined by two industry professionals to share their experiences and provide examples from project designs and installations. Let’s connect at 7x24 in Orlando.
